Bogart began in 1869 as Osceola, was renamed in 1892 for a railroad agent, and grew once the Athens to Atlanta train came through in the 1890s. By ACS 2024 5-year counts from Census Reporter, its 606 homes split almost evenly by era: 33 percent built before 1980, 33 percent from 1980 to 1999, and 33 percent since 2000, with 26 percent since 2010 alone. Eighty-four percent are owner occupied. So a Bogart roof might be an older one due for a tear-off and new decking, or one barely ten years old that only needs a storm check.
Wind and falling pines fill the local storm record. On August 29, 2005, an F0 tornado touched down on Ridgeway Road about six miles southwest of Bogart, blew down ten large trees and took part of a roof off a home. That July, downed trees, at least one a large pine, blocked both lanes of North Bursons Avenue. In January 2007 a tree fell on Roanoke Road and limb debris covered Highway 53 at Ray's Church Road. On June 6, 2021, numerous trees came down in the Rays Church Road area while a GDOT sensor on Highway 78 recorded a 61 mph gust.
Growth since 2010 shows up on the school map, with Dove Creek Elementary opening in 2018, and Oconee's county history notes pine forests and cattle ranches giving way to subdivisions. Hail visits too: the sheriff saw penny size hail near Bogart on May 26, 2006, and penny to nickel size stones fell southwest of town near U.S. 78 and Georgia 53 in March 2010. Bogart City Hall, at 125 Main Street, says permits are required for any new structure or any structure altered over 100 square feet, and the city contracts its inspections with Oconee County.
"David did a stellar job on my roof. It’s really beautiful. I own rental properties so he has actually done a few roofs for me and lots of repair and maintenance on my older roofs. He is easy to work with and so reliable."

Ask City Hall before work starts. The City of Bogart says building permits are required for any new structure or any structure altered over 100 square feet, and it contracts all inspections with Oconee County. City Hall is at 125 Main Street. We can talk through the scope of the job before you call them.
Age is only half of it. About a quarter of Bogart homes were built since 2010, and they sit in the same storm path as the old ones: an F0 tornado took part of a roof off a home on Ridgeway Road in 2005, and a 61 mph gust hit Highway 78 in June 2021. An inspection after a storm catches lifted or missing shingles early.
Yes. Trees and limbs through the roof are core work for us. Once the tree is off the house, we rebuild the decking where it cracked, patch around it and close the roof up against the weather. Bogart sits about 10 miles from our base in Winder, and you can reach Dave directly at (678) 873-8757.
All the time. Landlords use us for new roofs, repairs, and keeping older roofs maintained across multiple properties.
We're based in Winder and roof across Barrow, Clarke, Oconee, Jackson, Walton, Gwinnett, and DeKalb counties. That covers Athens, Watkinsville, Jefferson, Monroe, Lawrenceville, Snellville, Stone Mountain, Tucker, Decatur, Avondale Estates, and the towns in between. Further out? Call and ask.
No. Estimates are always free with no pressure. We treat your home like our own and stand behind every roof we put on.
